C.S. Lewis, Matchmaker

The tagline on this book starts, "Two C.S. Lewis fans meet in snowy Oxford." With a tagline like that, how could I not read it?!The fact that I love C.S. Lewis is no secret, so I dove into this book head-first. Kara Isaac's Can't Help Falling follows Emelia Mason a former tabloid reporter who spontaneously moves to Oxford, England to try to right the terrible wrong brought about by her latest tabloid story. Emelia also happens to be a massive Lewis fan with a tendency to crawl into wardrobes to check for Narnia. (In other words, a girl after my own heart.) In Oxford, she keeps bumping into Peter Carlise, a Narnia fan in his own right, and one of Britain's best rowers. At least, he was one of the best until an injury sidelined him. She's fighting to restore what her words destroyed. He's fighting to regain his chance at the Olympics. Together, they're trying to revive a struggling charity. However, the secrets behind Emelia's involvement might just tear apart both their relationship and their hope of saving the charity. To put simply, I loved this book. The Narnia references. The beautiful Oxford setting. The story of redemption and hope. It was all great. I think my only complaint is that this book doesn't appear to have a follow-up...yet. I want more of these characters. I want more of this town. I just want more. After scouring for information online, I'm hopeful that Kara Isaac's *might* have a sequel planned (seriously crossing my fingers for this to be true). If you're looking for a good read, I definitely suggest checking out Can't Help Falling by Kara Isaacs. I'm going to have to get my hands on some of her other books because they look just as great as this one was. I really love finding new (to me) authors to read!
