Even More Trouble
This week, I finished the Holly Anna Paladin Series by Christy Barritt. These three books see Holly running into trouble yet again and again and again.I think my biggest issue with books 4-6 of this series is that it sort of feels like the main character hasn't learned much from her past escapades. She continuously runs headlong into dangerous situations and then seems surprised when she ends up in trouble like she hasn't learned anything through her previous investigations.Despite that, Holly is still a lovable character. She's incredibly unique, from the car she drive to the clothes she wears to her love of etiquette. However, she's also incredibly relatable when it comes to her relationships. Whether it's her family relationships or dating relationships, she has real struggles and doubts that pretty much anyone can relate to when reading the books. The mysteries are well written and interesting. While I was able to spot the bad guy much sooner than Holly on a couple of them, I still wasn't able to put all the pieces together before I read it, which is rare for me.Overall, they were good and I would definitely recommend reading them if you like suspense novels, but I think I prefer Barritt's Worst Detective Ever Series over this series.
